Shoe Art

This is my first exploration of fine art shoe photography and it was a joy! I found this vintage child's shoe in an abandoned house, here in Italy, exactly as you see it. I saw it as a really touching example of how objects can stir our emotions and take us to another place in time.

I imagined a little girl choosing her beautiful new shoes, so I added the tiny flowers as a memorial to that day, as I pictured it.

I printed it on the textured, heavy 310gsm but soft Hahnemuhle German Etching paper. The mood of the scene was basically painterly, so this was the perfect paper to reflect that.
