Fine art print of a statue of two children in the clouds
I certainly seem to have taken a lot of photographs of unusual statues over the last year! Something to do with the permanence of stone, particularly in a world that lacks stability. This is a rather singular photograph of a statue of children which I spotted on a long wintry dog walk, hence the snow you can see on the urn.
The statue was half buried in snow and facing away from me, exactly as you see it. It was only about 18" high but very heavy and I never got to see the faces of the children.
I understood the story immediately. The future of the world belongs to the children, the generations to come. Photographs of statues of children can make us think. The journey towards the future is unknown but it'll take courage and hanging on tightly to those things that matter. The bottles of coke were my addition to remind us all to be careful what we take with us as we move forwards.
I am fond of this image: a handcrafted piece of wall art that has elements of old and new in its story. A photograph of hope or maybe it's a photograph of a journey? You decide! It looks fantastic, once printed up, and could be hanging on your wall within 4 days!
