Black and white Giclee print of three hanging ballet slippers

It was pure luck that I stumbled on this ethereal image of three abandoned silk ballet shoes. Aren't they something? They were, in fact, pink but I felt that this black and white photograph is compelling in a way that a colour version would not be. A dreamy wistful photograph of abandoned ballet slippers will definitely touch your soul!

Who danced in these delicate ballet slippers? Did they have a sentimental value to the dancer? I found these silk shoes hanging exactly like this, in the Metro in Rome, and they made my heart ache a little: something so tender and sad about them. And why were there three?

One of my customers chose the title 'Croise' (a ballet position) in one of the competitions I run sometimes, in my Newsletter. I think it's perfect!
