A photograph of a horse
Creating this sort of painterly image was my way of exploring what lies beneath (hence the skeleton) the idea that the pandemic has been apocalyptic. For those who lost family, or weren't even been able to go to the funeral, as well as those whose entire livelihoods have gone down the drain, the answer would be 'yes'.
'Apocalypse' actually means 'a revelation of great knowledge' and in many ways the last year has been just that, hasn't it? Haven't we all given greater thought to what really matters to us? Horses are animals of huge character and are the animal associated with The Apocalypse ... so, it seemed obvious what I had to do!
The image is printed on the exceptional Hahnemuhle German Etching paper, with a surprising weight and depth, it's quite heavy at 310gsm. One of my favourites.
The prints are available to buy in three standard sizes: 10" x 8", 15" x 12" and 20" x 16" (if you're thinking about something larger than this, we can talk abut it).
