Unusual Giclee print - vintage curtain inside a deserted home
What hides behind the curtain? Who put it there? Why? One of the reasons I love abandoned house photography is because it makes me think, makes me ask questions about my surroundings.
Photographs of derelict homes are filled with stories, with mysteries. This image, with the gentle positioning of this curtain and the soft lines, undeniably revealed an aching vulnerability. I wondered if someone put the fabric there to maintain some kind of privacy, dignity even.
This will sound really odd, but I never looked behind the curtain. I had the strongest feeling that I should respect the intended privacy: evidently a bit crazy considering house didn't even have a roof!
