Giclee prints from a decaying medieval hospital
On the outskirts of my village there is a small hospital, abandoned about 50 years ago. It's an ancient building, centered around a medieval courtyard and a beautiful old church.
Capturing the atmosphere
Everything you see is exactly how I found it. Nothing staged.
Old bits of vintage hospital equipment, medical records, clothing and suitcases were just strewn everywhere. It was if one day everybody just disappeared. The most disturbing thing were the shoes: dozens of pairs in the tiny 4-bed wards and in the arched medieval corridors. Unaccountably sad, somehow.
